Melanie is a Senior Associate specialising in all aspects of development planning, highways and compulsory purchase, as well as major infrastructure project authorisations, including nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008.  Melanie has a broad range of expertise and acts for both private and public sector clients. Melanie has acted on some of the UK's major regeneration schemes providing strategic legal advice on development proposals, as well as advising on contentious planning matters including in relation to planning appeals and judicial review proceedings. Melanie’s work also includes advising on Environmental Impact Assessment. In the transport sector, Melanie has advised promoters and objectors in relation to road and tramway schemes.  Melanie also has experience of projects in the energy sector, including gas-fired power stations.
