Career

João, Founding partner of and head of the litigation practice at CGM. He has nearly 30 years of experience handling high-stakes and complex litigation. He has a proven track record of success in strategic litigation, including extensive experience presenting oral arguments before higher courts and drafting persuasive legal briefs. João has secured numerous favorable outcomes in the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments before the Superior Court of Justice and has represented clients in corporate arbitration before major arbitration institutions such as the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC), the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Memberships

João is an active member of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), the Brazilian Institute of Business Law (Ibrademp) and the Legal Committee of the Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ITALCAM). He also served as rapporteur for the 6th Panel of the Ethics and Discipline Court of the OAB-SP from 2016 to 2018.
