Career
experience in both the private and public sectors of Ecuador. Her specialization is in labor matters and in the execution of consultancies for the private sector and multilateral organizations in the analysis of public policy and the regulatory framework for the promotion of employability, protection of priority groups, gender policies and for the strengthening of skills and capacities.
In the public sector, in different periods she has been Regional Director of Labor and Public Service of the country's capital and later Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor, being responsible for the development of public labor policy, analysis of the ministry's organizational structure, articulation of initiatives between workers and employers, dissemination of ministerial initiatives to civil society and representative in national and international forums. He has played a central role in the discussion of different versions and proposals for reform of the Ecuadorian Labour Code.
His high specialized knowledge in labor matters has allowed him to advise representative companies in the mining, automotive, and tourism sectors, among others, contributing significantly to the recognition of the firm in this area, as well as providing his services to entities such as the International Labor Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations Organization for Women.
Her clients continuously highlight not only her guidance but also her commitment, equanimity and empathy; the result of her continuous training in negotiation, gender, education, and prevention against labor disruption; training that she shares through teaching in labor law in prestigious academic entities such as the Catholic University and the University of the Americas, UDLA since 2018.
As part of her personal commitment to the defense and promotion of structural issues in Ecuador, Jessahé is president of the Women in Profession Foundation, WIP Ecuador, a local program of the Vance Center that promotes the advancement of women in the legal profession with an emphasis on individual leadership. She is also a legal and strategic advisor to the REDNI Foundation, which from civil society articulates the private and public sectors for the fight against chronic child malnutrition; and since 2016 she has promoted projects and advised initiatives related to the productive transition of Ecuador based on innovation, competitiveness and sustainability.
