Career

Joanna advises on child related aspects of family law and particularly specialises in child care proceedings. She completed her training at Hanne & Co. and joined the family team in 2010.

Joanna specialises in representing parents in cases where social services have concerns about a child; these cases often involve complex allegations of physical and emotional abuse and neglect. She also represents parents in disputes within the family about child contact, residence, international relocation and specific issues such as where a child goes to school. In addition to this she regularly represents clients seeking injunctions as a result of abuse by a partner or ex-partner.

Joanna understands that these situations are often extremely stressful for clients. She takes a pragmatic yet sensitive approach to each case and her aim is to reach a fair and constructive resolution so clients can move on with their lives in a positive way.

Joanna is an active member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers which campaigns to protect people’s access to legal advice and representation.
