Career

Michael Tantoco is the Managing Partner of the Firm. He specializes in commercial and capital market transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, asset management, securities regulation and energy related matters.

He graduated with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University Law School in 1988 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1989. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the same University.

Atty. Tantoco is currently a member of the Board of Directors and/or corporate secretary of several corporations, including: ABI Pascual Foods Inc., Cyan Management Corporation, Northern Lights Technology Development Corporation, Paradigm Pharma Philippines Corp., Teleperfomance (Telephilippines, Incorporated), TPPH-CRM Inc., TPPH- FHCS Inc., E- Konflux Solutions Inc., Teleperformance Global Services Philippines Inc., Tricom Dynamics, Inc., Tricom Systems, Inc., VAMED-Philippine Hospital Project Development, Inc., and The Moment Group Holdings Inc. In addition, he is also the corporate secretary of the Ninoy & Cory Foundation, Inc. and Asian Local Search & Media Association, Inc.

He was previously lead external Philippine counsel to the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM), the government owned and controlled corporation tasked to privatize the Government’s energy assets. He participated extensively in the drafting of the Implementing Rules and Regulations to Republic Act No. 9136 – the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001. He also previously rendered legal advice during the drafting of several issuances of the Energy Regulatory Commission. He advises clients on a wide array of capital markets and commercial transactions including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions. He also advises clients of various immigration-related matters.
