Sergii Koziakov is a Doctor of Law and associate professor of private international law at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Sergii has been practicing law for more than 30 years, specializes in particular, in International Trade, Public-Private Partnerships, Arbitration, Legal Academic Expertise.

Sergii is widely recognized as one of Ukraine's leading legal experts and has made significant contributions to the country's judicial reforms, as in 2014-2019, Sergii Koziakov served as the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJU). In the course of his work as a member and Chairman of the HQCJU, Sergii introduced significant innovative procedures to prevent corruption in the judiciary, such as the evaluation of judges. He also held the first open competition in Ukraine's history for the new Supreme Court and the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Sergii Koziakov has been repeatedly recognized in prominent legal rankings, including Chambers GLOBAL, Best Lawyers International, IFLR1000, and others.

In 2022, Sergii Koziakov received the Cara Scholarship for Academics at Risk and is a Visiting Senior Fellow with the London School of Economics and Political Science. As a Research Leader at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, he is engaged in comparative analysis of judicial reforms in Ukraine, Europe, and other regions of the world and in the regulation of artificial intelligence.

Sergii is also an Associate Professor of Private International Law at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv and lectured for many years at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.
