Dr. Prisca Octavia Rumokoy is a promising young lawyer with outstanding academic excellence. Holding double master’s degrees in law, she obtained her Bachelor of Laws and first Master of Laws from Universitas Sam Ratulangi, both with a summa cum laude honor, and her second Master of Laws degree with a Business Law Certificate from the University of Southern California, graduating in the top 5% of her class.

Before joining Walalangi & Partners, she worked at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, California Superior Court.

Other than practicing as an Indonesian lawyer, Prisca Octavia Rumokoy is also passionate to share her knowledge and experience. Her passion for sharing knowledge prompted her to teach basic courses, such as Introduction to Legal Science and Introduction to Indonesian Law, to first-year law students at a public university in Indonesia. In addition, she has presented her works on international trade and business at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford and has been regularly invited as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching the International Trade Law course since 2019.

Prisca Octavia Rumokoy is a member of the American Society of International Law and also an Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the world’s leading qualifications and professional body representing the interests of alternative dispute resolution practitioners worldwide.

Education

Prisca Octavia Rumokoy successfully earned her Bachelor of Laws and first Master of Laws with a summa cum laude honor at a young age and was named “the Youngest Indonesian Bachelor and Master of Laws” by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI). During her university years, she served as the Chair of Women’s Affairs of the Student Executive Council and was active in the Law Student Body Association.

Having completed her master’s studies at Universitas Sam Ratulangi, she continued her studies at the University of Southern California, where she managed to obtain her second Master of Laws with a Business Law Certificate. Back in the day, she received several awards, such as Excellent Performance in LL.M Legal Writing and Outstanding Academic Performance. She graduated from the university in the top 5% of her class and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the United States’ oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Her academic excellence and promising talents were again shown when she received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Washington, where she graduated among the top of her class and was then invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Dr. Prisca Octavia Rumokoy took her doctorate at the University of Washington on a full scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education. She successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from that university, where she graduated among the top of her class.
