Position

Jacob specializes in commercial dispute resolution, particularly within the fields of insurance and construction, adeptly representing insurance companies, employers and contractors in major projects through arbitration and litigation. He has extensive experience advising leading Swedish companies and multinationals on all aspects of international and domestic commercial arbitration and litigation in numerous complex and large-scale disputes across multiple jurisdictions, areas of law and industries, including construction and infrastructure, energy, IT and telecoms, manufacturing, real estate and insurance. He has represented clients at all levels of the Swedish judicial system as well as international and Swedish arbitral tribunals under different arbitral rules. Beyond his role as counsel, Jacob has a developing practice as an arbitrator and consistently serves as an administrative secretary to arbitral tribunals.

Career

Jacob is a Senior Associate at Westerberg & Partners, joining in 2021 from another leading Swedish law firm. Prior to his tenure in private practice, Jacob worked as a junior judge and law clerk at a district court in Stockholm. He also has background in tax M&A and tax structuring with a “Big Four” accounting firm.

Memberships

Jacob is the ICC Young Arbitration ADR Forum (‘ICC YAAF’) representative for Europe & Central Asia. Dual-qualified in civil and common law, Jacob is admitted in New York and in Sweden. He is an active participant in several domestic and internationally recognized associations, including, the Swedish Insurance Law Association, the Swedish Arbitration Association, Young Arbitrators Sweden, the American Bar Association, the Swedish Bar Association, the Swedish Society for Construction and Consulting Law, and others.
