Lorena Navia Rodriguez is a senior associate in our litigation department and she has a broad litigation and advisory practice with a strong emphasize on real estate. In her practice she advises both local and international companies, contractors, project developers and government organizations.Lorena is specialized in real estate law in the Dutch Caribbean as a whole and has extensive experience with construction law, rental law and property law.  In 2021 she successfully completed her post-graduate real estate specialization course (Grotius Vastgoed).   Lorena advised several project developers on questions about the legal structure of a development project and is assisting a project developer that ran into problems (afterwards) with a homeowner’s association. Lorena also assisted several contractors in court cases and advised a contractor in a major construction court case against a resort on Bonaire. During 2023 Lorena also advised on real estate issues in transactions and acquisitions of resorts and times shares. In addition, Lorena has been working with a property manager in a major dispute with a homeowner’s association. With her specialized knowledge and extensive experience, Lorena is a trusted advisor and advocate for clients seeking expert guidance in all real estate law matters. Since September 2023 Lorena is the dean of the Bonaire Bar Association. Lorena was born in Colombia and grew up in the Netherlands. In 2013, she obtained her master’s degree in Law and Business at the University of Utrecht. She also obtained a master’s degree in Political Science with an emphasis on international relations at the University of Amsterdam.
