Career

José Cruz Campillo is the Managing Partner of Ulises Cabrera. His practice is focused on civil and commercial matters, foreign investments, export free zones and duty frees, agency and distribution law, labor and employment law, tax litigation, mergers and acquisitions, Telecommunications and intellectual property. Before becoming a member of Ulises Cabrera, Mr. Cruz Campillo he completed 5 years at the local office of an international firm, first as a senior associate and later as a partner spearheading its corporate and business practice for the Dominican Republic. Subsequently co-founded a Dominican law firm with global reach. Before that he served in various managerial positions in the largest Dominican telecommunications company where he, in addition, served as that company’s Focal Point for ITU’s Working Group for the General Telecommunications Bill of the Dominican Republic (later enacted into the General Telecommunications Law 153-98) and its Regulations for Interconnection, National Numbering Plan, Signaling and Routing; as well as a member of the negotiation team of that company’s Telecommunications Concession with the Dominican State.
