Career

Chowdhury was called to the Bar from the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in 2009. He completed LL.M in ADR before going for an Internship with the United Nations at their Headquarters in New York. He worked in the Administrative Law Unit preparing cases for the UN Dispute Tribunal.  

 

Chowdhury has extensive knowledge of Immigration and asylum law. Before commencing Pupillage, he has worked with Kalam Solicitors and Law Lane solicitors for a number of years. He regularly appears at the Upper Tribunal as well as the First Tier Immigration Tribunal and managed to achieve successful outcome in majority of the cases. He has extensive knowledge of drafting immigration grounds for Court of Appeal, Upper Tribunal and First Tier Tribunal.

 

Chowdhury works as an Agent Prosecutor of the Crown Prosecution Service at Magistrates’ Courts around London, Oxford and Reading. He has successfully prosecuted in all aspects of crime. He has also worked as a Defence Counsel resulting in acquittal.

 

Chowdhury is also an Advocate of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh where he regularly appears. He is engaged with a leading law firm and worked in a number of high profile domestic and international cases. He wishes to practise cross jurisdiction and build up an international practice.
