Career

Khadija was called to the Bar in 2000. Since 2002, Khadija has worked on cases from sets of other chambers in a broad range of areas of law.

 

 

Her initial training at the Bar was in chancery law (with an emphasis on charity law). Subsequently her experience broadened considerably and she has worked on cases involving criminal law, family law and immigration, asylum and related human rights law. She has worked on cases involving different legal issues in the immigration and asylum law.

 

 

Khadija has in-house legal experience. She was an Immigration Counsellor at the Immigration Advisory Service and has worked as a Legal Manager for an OISC-regulated immigration law firm and at Wainwright and Cummins Solicitors.

 

 

Khadija also has considerable experience in teaching and academia. She has been a Trainer in immigration law for HJT Training Ltd. She worked in collaboration with HJT Training to deliver in-house legal training to firms and organisations; and has trained legal teams at Deloitte, Newland Chase, Barnardos and Migrant Helpline in immigration law. She is currently an Associate Lecturer in Immigration Law Part 1: Fundamentals of UK Law and Immigration Law Part 2: Advanced Concepts in Asylum Law at Birkbeck College, University of London. She is also a Tutor on the Barrister Training Course at BPP University.
