Rob Wouters is a highly experienced corporate lawyer specialising in M&A and private equity. He advises corporates, financial sponsors, and institutional investors on domestic and cross-border transactions, including carve-outs, strategic acquisitions, and divestments. His practice spans a broad range of industries, including consumer & retail, technology, healthcare, energy, chemicals, and utilities. He has extensive experience navigating multi-jurisdictional deal structures and complex regulatory frameworks.

Rob also has significant expertise in corporate governance, particularly in relation to listed companies. He regularly advises boards, management teams, and special committees on governance best practices, shareholder activism, and regulatory compliance. Clients appreciate his ability to handle high-stakes corporate matters with strategic precision and commercial pragmatism.

Rob was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 2005 and began his career at a leading Dutch law firm. In 2017-2018, he gained invaluable in-house experience as senior legal counsel at ABN AMRO, advising on M&A and corporate governance matters. This experience provides him with a unique perspective on the challenges faced by publicly listed companies and financial institutions.

He earned his law degree from the University of Amsterdam in 2005 and, in the same year, completed the International Business Transactions and Law master’s program at Amsterdam Nyenrode Law School.
