Career

Juan Carlos Girao was promoted to partner in January 2024. He has been with the founding team since he started at Miranda & Amado in 2011.  

He specializes in providing counsel on employment and labor law, including areas such as hiring, outsourcing, employment policies, compensation and benefits, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, among others. With over 10 years of experience, Juan Carlos has advised clients in Peru, with a focus on industries such as aviation, telecommunications, banking, mining, and hydrocarbons.  

Juan Carlos is registered as an arbitrator in collective bargaining matters with the Ministry of Employment of Peru. Additionally, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Employment Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú from 2014 to 2021.  

He is a featured speaker at conferences and has authored various academic articles and books. His inaugural book, "Collective Labor Arbitrations in Peru: a theoretical-practical approach," was published in 2019 by the prestigious Peruvian legal editorial, Gaceta Jurídica.
