Career

Jorge Toyama co heads in Advisory and the Inspections areas.   

Jorge Toyama refounded Vinatea & Toyama together with Luis Vinatea in August 2019, after leaving Miranda & Amado Abogados where he led the labour area for over 16 years.  

 Recognized by peers and clients as an outstanding lawyer and as a leader because of his extraordinary human but also business approach to legal issues, conflicts, and strategic management of labour.  

He has consolidated himself as an opinion leader. Above all he is nowadays the trusted labour advisor to C-Suite of the country's leading companies. He has the skill to attract the large majority of clients to our firm, as the truly rainmaker. And he is still very active in the daily labour practice, which includes mainly consultancy work, but also his participation in relevant stages of the most important labour controversies in the country.  

Regarding his public work, Jorge Toyama has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion on several occasions, was a member of the court at the National Civil Service Authority for four years and has advised the World Bank, USAID, ECLAC and ILO on labour matters.  

Currently, Jorge Toyama is a member of the board of directors of Perú Good Employers Nonprofit Organization (ABE) of the American Chamber of Commerce - AMCHAM.   

He is currently the chief editor of Soluciones laborales a comprehensive information system specialized in Labor and Social Security Law, published by Peruvian editorial group Gaceta Jurídica.
