Senior Partner

J. M. Jain has more than thirty years of experience of working in various Government departments including Customs and Central Excise Commissionerates, Preventive and Anti-smuggling wings, Appellate Authority in the then Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), Directorate of Inspection etc. He was the Senior Departmental Representative in the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) at Mumbai, where his functioning earned him considerable respect and appreciation. He has also functioned as a Deputy Director and later as Special Director in the Enforcement Directorate. He subsequently practised as an independent advocate and counsel for more than twenty years and appeared before various adjudicatory and appellate forums including the Tribunals (CESTAT).

In TLC, he handles advisory and litigation work relating to Customs, Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

He is an avid reader, especially of historical narratives. A self-effacing philanthropist, he lends a helping hand in deserving cases. He is also interested in all things spiritual.
