Friedrich Emmerling has extensive experience in conducting patent litigation and prosecution, enforcing patents and utility models, offering strategic advice on patent portfolios and representing clients in numerous nullity proceedings and oppositions before the German patent courts and EPO. He also cooperates with law firms in parallel infringement proceedings before the German Regional/Higher Regional Courts.

Many of these patent disputes are based on SEPs and concern complex technical questions in the mobile communications, video and photovoltaic technology fields. He possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of laser physics, LED technology, mobile communications, semiconductor technology, software, telecoms and video/audio encoding.
