Advocate Davida Blackmore joined Callington Chambers in September 2016 from the dispute resolution department of a magic circle offshore firm where she spent 11 years.  She was called to the Jersey Bar in 2010.

Davida was appointed as a legal member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board by the Minister for Home Affairs in January 2017.

Position

Davida is an experienced litigator and information law specialist having been involved, over the years, in the majority of the significant recent Jersey cases involving data protection issues.  She advises the Information Commissioner for Jersey (and has previously advised the Data Protection Commissioner for Guernsey) together with legal and financial services institutions, organisations in the technology sector and deals with various aspects of information law including:

Advising on developments in Jersey law necessitated by the implementation of the GDPR and Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; The implementation of legislative changes in respect of both data protection and freedom of information legislation; Appeals under the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law.
