Position

Advises on contentious and non-contentious IP matters, and with a specialism of brand protection and strategy. Jason is equally at home in the courts and trade mark registries. Jason files trade marks for clients in the UK and Europe and manages worldwide trade mark portfolios. He is experienced in bringing and defending trade mark oppositions in the High Court and at the UK and EU trade mark registries, as well as managing disputes involving trade marks, passing off, design rights, database right, domain names, trade secrets and copyright. He is experienced in the field of lookalike products, ex-employee confidential information and actions against liquidators. He has brought actions in the High Court, obtaining injunctions against liquidators and administrators to prevent the sale of client assets. Jason also drafts and advises on a variety of commercial IP agreements including R&D agreements, confidentiality agreements and licences. He advises Kurt Geiger, Giorgio Armani, Findus, Birdseye, Iglo, Callaway Golf, Ascential (WGSN, Retail Week), the Restaurant Group (Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito), Ebuyer.com and Wren Kitchens, on brand protection and dispute resolution.
