Career

Mr. González has advised numerous domestic and international institutions on matters related to financial, securities and corporate law. He was a member of the commission to draft the Securities Market Law under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance.

He has more than 30 years of experience advising national and international companies in the financial sector. He served as Legal Vice President and Executive Vice President of the Bogotá Stock Exchange, where he led the integration of the Colombian Stock Exchange and was responsible for the management of the startup of the Colombian Electronic Market.

Additionally, he was a member of the commission that drafted the Securities Market Law under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance.

Has been professor of Universidad Javeriana y del Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración – CESA. Currently he is Financial Law professor of in Universidad Javeriana.

The team also demonstrates significant activity in debt capital markets work. In a recent example, department head Juan Pablo González advised Scotiabank Colpatria on the issuance of subordinated bonds classified in the Additional Tier 1 capital of the bank. Veronica Arango Lux is also noted for her experience in advising on bond and share offerings in both the local and international markets.
