Background

Before joining KPMG Ireland in 2022, Daragh trained and worked in a private client department of a leading international law firm in Dublin. Daragh specialises in advising domestic and multinational organisations on corporate law, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. Daragh also has experience in succession planning for private clients and family businesses from a legal and tax perspective and advises on charitable law.

Professional Experience

Corporate Law Advices: advices to major clients, in relation to corporate and tax restructures, on company law and commercial contracts. Group Reorganisations: the transfer of shares, business and assets and entity simplification projects. Corporate Governance: advice and assistance in relation to directors duties, corporate compliance, directors loan issues and financial assistance. Preliminary Legal Advice on Proposed Structures: integrated legal advice together with other KPMG tax, accounting and business advisors on corporate structuring projects. Mergers: advices and assistance to clients on domestic and cross border mergers. Family Business: advising family businesses on the implementation of family partnerships, shareholders agreements, and future planning. Succession Planning: facilitating the transfer of wealth through generations in a tax efficient manner, including Capital Acquisitions Tax compliance. Trusts: advising on trust structures, administration of trusts, and trustee duties. Charities: assisting charities with regulatory, tax and compliance issues, including registration and administration under the Charities Act 2009. Stamp Duty: providing advice and assistance on stamp duty planning, availing of reliefs, and compliance.
