Career
Raul is a dual-qualified financial services lawyer within the KPMG Legal team, with over 8 years’ legal experience. He advises clients on matters including capital markets operations, financings, corporate governance, fintech, and the authorisation and reporting obligations of financial institutions.
In his capacity as a Registered European Lawyer at the Bucharest Bar and a practising Solicitor of England and Wales, Raul is optimally positioned to advise on complex transactions, including on those involving EU financial services legislation and the common law legal systems.
Raul’s key projects include: cross-border financings involving hundreds of millions of euros, transfer of investment services businesses, authorisation of fintechs and non-banking financial institutions with the National Bank of Romania, de-listings from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the squeeze-out of minority shareholders, corporate governance restructuring, and compiling executive remuneration schemes, including share option plans.
When client deliverables require a multidisciplinary approach, Raul also works alongside KPMG’s tax, accounting and deal advisory consultants.
