Günay’s practice focuses on: setting-up, authorizations and licensing, consumer protection and regulatory issues for credit institutions and non-banking financial institutions as well as listing of issuers on Romanian and international capital markets. His experience also includes M&A and restructuring mandates for financial institutions in Romania as well as Share Option Plans, Squeeze-out, Cash-Pooling and assistance on MiFID II and Market Abuse projects. Günay is an associate professor at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies where he teaches Business Law.

   

Over the last few years, Günay has successfully assisted 3 innovative foreign FinTech companies with providing online lending platforms in complex authorization projects to become licensed as non-banking financial institutions, coordinated 2 listings and several delistings/squeeze-outs of Romanian companies on the AeRO Market, assisted 3 credit institutions during the shareholder and merger authorisation process with the National Bank of Romania, and has been involved in 5 landmark transactions on the Romanian market.
