Bart is founding partner of Stonewater. He obtained four master degrees, being Dutch civil law (University of Utrecht), law and economics (University of Utrecht), tax law (VU University Amsterdam) and technical business administration (Twente University). He has worked at corporate recovery and corporate finance for several years with KPMG and has subsequently worked as legal and tax partner with private equity firm Greenfield Capital Partners for over 15 years. Unlike most lawyers, he has financial acumen and is experienced as investor and board member. Given his vast transaction and financial experience, he heads Stonewater’s M&A and finance litigation practice, whereby he solves in and out of court legal disputes between sellers, buyers, shareholders and financiers. His thorough legal knowledge and experience also allowed him to become a cassation lawyer before the Dutch Supreme Court.
