Career

Berna Aytaç graduated from Bilkent University in 2010. After completing her legal internship, obtained her LL.M. degree in International Intellectual Property Law from Brunel University. In her dissertation, she addressed the issue of “The Liability of Hosting Providers for Copyright Infringement in Peer-to-Peer Systems,” a topic that was rarely encountered at the time but would become very significant in the future.

Berna has worked in some of Turkey’s leading law firms specializing in technology, media, and telecommunications law, providing legal consultancy to some of the world’s top technology companies. With over 10 years of experience in technology, media, and telecommunications, she has engaged in various areas of the law, including personal data protection, fintech, electronic communications, geospatial data, e-commerce, internet law, digital media, and crypto assets.

In addition to her legal career, Berna has conducted projects and research on Blockchain technology, offering consultancy services to global and local companies on entering the Blockchain ecosystem and project development.

Berna holds a CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) certification. She is a co-chair of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) KnowledgeNet Istanbul Chapter and is a member of SheFi and the Institute of Neurotechnology & Law.
