She develops and handles legal assistance (for a full variety of clients) related to the acquisition, use and enforcement of patents as well as counseling related to patents of invention and utility models, advise on the availability of patent protection; patentability, validity and possible infringements to patent and utility models law, prosecution of appropriate patent application, registration and enforcement regarding plant variety protection, licensing and patent litigation.   

She is also deeply specialized in registration, protection and enforcement of trademarks, including research and investigation for trademark clearance, preparation of opinion letters, advice on the appropriate use of brand names and trademark applications. Policing and monitoring the use of trademarks by third parties. Prosecution, defense and settlement of trademark administrative and judicial proceedings.    

Cecilia has more than 17 years of proven experience -achieved in top-tier law firms- in proving legal services related to the acquisition, protection, enforcement and commercial exploitation of IP assets both in Argentina and other countries, including counseling, prosecution and registration of trademarks, patents and utility models, industrial models and designs, trade secrets, unfair competition protection and copyright registration.   

Before joining CLarkeModet in 2012, she served as a senior lawyer in MercadoLibre S.R.L, the major e-commerce company in LatAm. She was responsible for the IP and Litigation Department for Latin America. Before that, she served at two of the major law firms in Argentina: Allende & Brea (2003-2006) and Bruchou, Fernández Madero & Lombardi (2007-2011).   

Cecilia has participated in numerous seminars and webinars in 2020 as well as she is very active in publications in the local medias.  

She was admitted to the Bar of the City of Buenos Aires (CPACF - Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal) in 2005, to the Argentine association of Industrial Agents (AAAPI) in 2008 as well as to the Bar of the Province of Buenos Aires (CASI - Colegio Público de Abogados de San Isidro) in 2016.   

She was recently appointed as a member of the Board of the Argentine Commerce Chamber (Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios��“CAC”), the most influential commercial chamber of Argentina. In May 2020 she was also appointed as a member of the Bard of the Brazilian-Argentine Chamber of Commerce (CAMBRAS).

Cecilia graduated with honors from Catholic University of Argentina (“UCA”) and obtained a scholarship to broaden her studies in an Italian universities (Università del Sacro Cuore) in Milan, Italy, where she lived for 1 ½ year. During that time, she worked in a top Italian law firm, highly specialized in Intellectual Property: Studio Legale Jacobacci & Associati.
