Position

Lilian has a broad civil and commercial practice focusing on cross-border commercial disputes, company matters, land and property, trusts, probate, and mental health law. She frequently represents Mainland Chinese high-net-worth individuals and Mainland China state-owned enterprise companies in their commercial disputes triable in Hong Kong. Another highlight of her practice is her growing expertise in mental health cases resulting in the development of this area of law.

Lilian has substantial court experience and is regularly instructed to appear in trials before the High Court and District Court in commercial and land disputes between individuals and/or companies. She also has appeared in many contested interlocutory proceedings in her own right, and her experience spanned over injunctive relief, jurisdictional challenges, staying of proceedings in favour of arbitration, caveat proceedings, and more typical interlocutory applications including but not limited to summary judgment, security for costs, setting aside default judgment, striking out pleading, discovery, expert evidence, relief from sanction and others.

Lilian is also developing an arbitration practice focusing on international and commercial arbitration.

Outside of practice, Lilian contributes to legal publications for LexisNexis and is a guest lecturer delivering CPD courses for Legal Beagle.

Lilian has served as a Judicial Associate to judges of the Court of Appeal and Court of First Instance of the High Court since 2023.
