I am a Partner in the Clinical Negligence Department.

I have over 30 years experience in running complex, high value clinical negligence claims for adults, children and families.  I have experience in all types of clinical negligence claims including birth injury/cerebral palsy, neurological injury, spinal injury, obstetrics and gynaecology, delayed diagnosis of cancer, orthopaedic injuries, surgical injuries and fatal accident claims.

I am dedicated and committed to helping clients receive the compensation they deserve after an injury.

I am a dual qualified lawyer - England and Australia (Queensland)

I worked within personal injury and clinical negligence practices in London and Sussex between 1987 and 2008.

Between 2008 and 2023, I have worked solely in the area of clinical (medical) negligence for national law firms in Australia, practising in the Queensland and Northern Territory jurisdictions.

Throughout my career, I have gained significant experience conducting complex, catastrophic, high value medical negligence litigation and she provides a client centred approach.  I have led teams and supervised and mentored junior lawyers.

In Queensland, I have been recognised as a leading medical negligence lawyer in the Doyles Guide in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Since 2023, I have returned to practice in the English jurisdiction as a Partner in Barratts' Clinical Negligence Department.

VI was a member of the Law Society Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence panels prior to her relocation to Australia.
