Career

Ingrid Soraya Ortíz has more than 22 years of professional experience in Litigation and Dispute resolution matters, working as legal representative of multiples companies, consortiums, temporary business associations (UTE’s) and project companies in proceedings before the administrative-contentious jurisdiction and the arbitral jurisdiction. She has also worked as an advisor and consultant on various issues regarding: commercial, corporate and consumer protection law. Linked to this firm since 2000.

Professor and Researcher of the Department of Commercial Law of the Externado University of Colombia,  where she works as the dean of the  post-graduate department. She is also the author of various publications in the field of data protection, consumer protection, free competition, unfair competition and anti-competitive practices. Furthermore, Ingrid Soraya Ortíz is a lecturer in Competition Law and Arbitration as well as member of the Colombian Association of Competition Law.

Education

Graduated with a degree in Law from the Externado University of Colombia, in Bogotá DC, Colombia, she is also a specialist in Commercial Law from the same University (2000) and has a Master (2007) in Contractual and Extra – Contractual Liability (civil liability and liability of the State).

In 2006 Ingrid Soraya Ortíz obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Commercial Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid and, after study stays in Italy (at the Universitá degli Studi di Trento - 2009), obtained the Doctorate (PHD) in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2010). During her stay in Spain, she took the course of Expert in Spanish Law for Foreign Jurists at the University of Alcalá de Henares and completed the studies required to obtain the convalidation of her law degree in Spain. In 2012, she completed her Master's Degree in Consumer Law at the University of Castilla La Mancha and later, completed the Diploma in Consumer Law and the Advanced Course in Competition Law at the Externado University. She has also taken various courses on Competition Law, Big Data and Digital Platforms; as well as on Personal Data Protection. She is currently studying the Diploma for Secretaries of Arbitration Courts at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.
