Career

Elizabeth’s core practice focuses on cross border transportation, trade and commercial and insurance/reinsurance work. Her practice has a particular focus on work involving Spain and Latin America and she is Vice President for the UK for the IIDM (Ibero-American Maritime Law Institute), whom she has represented in IMO Legal Committee Sessions.

She specialises in dispute resolution and has significant litigation experience in the English Courts, handling cases at all levels including the Supreme Court, as well as arbitration, including LMAA (of which she is a supporting member), LCIA and ICC.

On the transportation side, Elizabeth deals with disputes arising under shipping and commodities contracts, such as charterparties, bills of lading, pool agreements and marine insurance policies. In commercial matters, she is involved in a variety of international trade and investment disputes, representing some of the largest global trading houses including Holcim Trading SA.

Before founding Preston Turnbull, Elizabeth was Co-Chair of Clyde & Co’s Latin American Strategy Committee and Board Member on the Firm’s Spanish and Mexican offices. She speaks Spanish and French.
