Career

Fayez Hage-Chahine is the Founding Partner of Hage-Chahine Law Firm and is recognized as one of the leading authorities on Private Law in the Middle East.

He is the first Lebanese attorney to hold the prestigious title of Agrégé of the French Faculties of Law and is the Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Law and political Sciences of Saint-Joseph University (Beirut and Dubai). He has participated in drafting numerous laws and regulations and presides over numerous law reform committees.

He is the former Vice-President of the International Association of Lawyers and the cofounder of the Academic Study Center of Saint-Joseph University in the Bekaa Valley and of Saint-Joseph University in Dubai. He is also the cofounder of the Lebanese Arbitration and Mediation Center (LAMC) and a former member of the board of trustees of the Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC).

As one of the most famous litigators in Lebanon, his victories in court have led to landmark decisions that have established precedents in Lebanon. He specializes in complex cross-border disputes and commercial arbitration. He is an experienced arbitrator and has acted as chairman or as co-arbitrator in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings.

He frequently advises on issues of comparative law that involve multiple jurisdictions with a focus on Arbitration, Banking & Finance, Contracts, Family Law, Inheritance, and Real Estate matters.

Fayez Hage-Chahine holds a PHD in Private law, a DEA in Private law and a DES in criminal law from Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas and a LL.B. in Lebanese and French Law from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut.

He has numerous publications in the fields of Banking & Finance, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Private International Law and Arbitration.

He is fluent in Arabic and French.
