Career

Mohammed Saad Al Muneefi began his career in 1986 with the Kuwait Investment Authority, where he managed real estate portfolios and evaluated direct investment projects until 1994. His early training included a one-year intensive course in investment accounting and financial analysis with the Authority in 1986, alongside several financial institutions. In 1987, he completed a banking operations course at Burgan Bank, followed by advanced training in hospitality management at Cornell University, New York, in 1989. He qualified as a lawyer with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Arab University of Beirut in 1991 and became a certified Commercial Arbitrator through the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Between 1991 and 1994, he held key roles, including working with the Kuwait Investment Office in the UK at St. Martin’s Company (1991), contributing to privatization studies with the World Bank (1992), and assisting in a merger study with Lehman Brothers (1993). From 1994 to 2002, he worked with Fosterling, an affiliate of the Kuwait Investment Authority in Atlanta, Georgia, and engaged with Bank of America and UBS in the US to oversee real estate portfolios. From 2002 to 2006, he served as Head of the Arab Institutions Sector in the Authority’s Arab Investments Department. He was appointed Director of New Institutions and Projects in 2006 and took on the role of Acting Director of Development and Loans in 2022, reflecting his steady rise in leadership within the investment and legal sectors.
