After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Law, Özlem Akay worked as a self-employed lawyer for 4 years and then started working as a Senior Lawyer at Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. Özlem was appointed to Sectoral Legal Consultancy Unit Management at Turkcell in 2007; to Director of the Sectoral Legal Affairs Department in 2011.

Özlem has a significant knowledge and experience that directly and to a large extent affect the main fields of activity of companies especially in issues such as establishing / updating the sectoral legislation on regulated markets, providing legal consultancy to companies within this scope, creating and implementing strategies and policies on issues that have a significant impact on company financials, representation of companies before decision making bodies of relevant institutions, ensuring the compliance of companies with the legislation they are subject to (electronic communication, payment services, electronic commerce, consumer legislation, data protection etc.), establishing processes, systems and policies related to this, management of preliminary research, examination and investigation processes.
