John Formichella heads the Telecommunication, Media, Technology, Data Privacy Practice Formichella & Sritawat. He is rated as Leading Individual by Legal 500 and ranked as a Band 1 individual by Chambers and Partners.

Considered a leading expert in the technology, media, and telecommunications sector in Thailand, John has over 25 years’ sophisticated experience covering technology transactions, software development and licensing, telecommunications law, e-commerce, data privacy, cyber-security, and media (OTT service providers, social media, film, and television).

John is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. He has served as Chairman of the Information & Communications Technology Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and is the exclusive member for TMT and Corporate Law in Thailand of IR-GLOBAL, the world’s largest international professional services network.

John graduated from the State University of New York (University of Buffalo) earning Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (Economics) degrees, and a Juris Doctorate. He also studied at the Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Law in Bangkok.
