Actial Farmaceutica LdA v Professor Claudio De Simone & Ors

Representing Actial, a Portuguese pharmaceutical company, in the High Court and Court of Appeal in a dispute over intellectual property rights, royalties and the ‘know-how’ in a probiotic medical food. Lipman Karas secured interlocutory mandatory injunctions, enabling Actial to supply its distributor with the product ([2016] EWCA Civ 1311; [2015] EWHC 2831 (Ch); [2015] EWCA Civ 1032; [2015] EWHC 836 (Ch)).

Banco Santander Totta, SA v Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, SA & others Represented four Portuguese transport companies in their dispute with a Portuguese bank in relation to nine interest rate “snowball” swaps ([2016] EWHC 465 (Comm), [2016] EWCA Civ 1267). Al Gosaibi Family & Group (AHAB)

Representing AHAB, a large group of privately owned companies run by the Al Gosaibi family, in their claims against Maan Al Sanea and his Saad Group concerning his role in an alleged fraud resulting in losses of at least US$9 billion.

ACLBDD Holdings Ltd & Ors v Staechelin & Ors

Representing the Rudolph Staechelin Family Trust Fund in a dispute over the payment of commission following the US$210 million sale of the Gauguin painting Nafea faa ipoipo to the Qatari royal family ([2018] EWHC 44 (Ch)).
