Career

Mr Felix Nicholas Otuoke of Lisa’s Law Solicitors, qualified on 15th May 2008, with about 16 years experienced of practice in Personal Injury, Housing Law, Immigration and Conveyancing matters.

Some of Felix's recent notable cases include:

Immigration Law Practice:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant immigration case involved a Venezuelan national seeking to remain in the UK under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act 1998. After the Home Office refused the application, an appeal was made to the First-tier Tribunal, which ruled in favor of the client. The Secretary of State for the Home Department (SSHD) appealed, but the Upper Tribunal upheld the decision.

The client, a 67-year-old with a heart condition, had lived in the UK for nearly 14 years. The SSHD argued that she could integrate back into Venezuela despite its severe economic and social collapse. The First-tier Tribunal Judge, referencing various reports, concluded that the client would face significant obstacles if returned. The Upper Tribunal agreed, noting that the First-tier Judge applied the correct legal test and properly assessed the facts.

Housing Law Practice:

A notable housing case during the pandemic involved a possession claim by a Housing Association against a client. The client's grandmother, the original tenant, passed away in July 2019, and the client applied for succession of the tenancy, which was denied by the Housing Association.

Felix Successfully defended the court application bought by the Housing association against the client.
