Jerry Flaxman

Career

I have over forty years of experience in the aviation insurance sector having previously worked as a light aircraft engineer. I joined the insurance broker, Willis Aerospace, in 1981 becoming Aviation Claims Director, then Managing Director of their Space Division.

In 2001, I joined the law firm Holman Fenwick & Willan to develop their aviation insurance portfolio.

I subsequently moved to become the London Aviation Claims Manager for Allianz in 2003, then joined the Senior Management team of QBE’s new Lloyd’s Aviation syndicate as Claims and Business Development Director in 2006.

I also serve as Aviation Director for a specialist in policy holder claims dispute resolution.

I lectured at Cranfield University where I developed and delivered a week long course for Cranfield Masters students on Aviation Crisis Management and Business Continuity.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a contributing editor and author for the CII P91 Aviation and Space Study text and a major contributor to the Cranfield published book entitled Buyers Handbook on Aviation Insurance ISBN 978-1-907413-11-7.

More recently I have been active as an insurance consultant in many leading-edge ventures in the energy, aviation and aerospace sector enabling me to stay very current on the Global development in the decarbonisation of Aerospace.
