Career

Valéria Saques a partner at Medina Osório Advogados in the Brasília office, was a National Treasury Attorney for 30 years, having retired in June 2017. She was Assistant to the Head of the Federal Attorney General´s Office during the administration of Fábio Medina Osório, from May to September 2016. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP), with a specialization in Business Law and in Commercial Law from the same school.

As a prosecutor, she has practiced before the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and the Federal Regional Courts of the 1st and 3rd Regions. She has also held the positions of General Coordinator of the Federal Delinquent Debt, General Coordinator of Planning and Norms, and Assistant General Attorney of the National Treasury.

She was a member of the Brazilian delegation to MERCOSUR, worked at the World Trade Organization - WTO, and represented PGFN (National Treasury General Attorney's Office) at the National Council of Fiscal Policy - CONFAZ and at the Permanent Technical Commission of ICMS - COTEPE.
