Melissa is a partner in ALTA Guatemala, her professional experience is based on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions processes, both local and cross-border. She also provides legal assistance and guidance on day-to-day corporate matters and corporate governance restructurings. Melissa represents clients ranging from large multinational companies to established smaller companies, and new and emerging entities in the marketing, agricultural and industrial industries. Additionally, she has experience representing and advising clients in complex dispute resolutions related to corporate governance, as well as legal challenges that arise at all stages of the life cycle of said governance, including strategies to resolve complex litigation. Finally, she has experience in commercial and private banking, advising local and foreign financial institutions on syndicated loan structures, bond issuance, guarantee structures, cross-border transactions and other types of financing structures and mechanisms.
