Santiago is a senior associate at ALTA Guatemala in the areas of Private Equity, M&A, and banking & finance. His experience in Private Equity is in the structuring of investment funds, investment platforms and transaction acquisition processes. In the area of ​​mergers and acquisitions, he has successfully led local and regional acquisitions in the manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceutical, metals, agribusiness, raw materials, beverage and food industries.

In the area of ​​banking & finance, he advised local and international clients in the negotiation and structuring of syndicated loans for agribusiness, energy generation, retail businesses, the manufacturing industry, and the aeronautical industry. He has also provided advice to clients on bond issues in international markets, both private companies and sovereign bond issues.

He was recognized as “Associate to Watch” in the areas of mergers & acquisitions and banking & finance by the global legal directories of Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
