The firm has represented QNet in cases related to Direct Selling Guidelines, 2016, issued by the Government of India to regulate the direct selling business.
Agrud Partners has also represented Lalitpur Power Corporation Ltd (LPGCL), a part of the Bajaj Group, in various litigation cases worth Rs. 1500 Crores. Additionally, the firm has represented Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd in various litigation cases worth over Rs. 500 Crores.
The firm represented Bank of Baroda (formerly Dena Bank) in a case worth Rs. 33,43,85,435/- where the client had subscribed to Non-Convertible Debentures of Apple Finance Limited, giving them a right over a property known as ‘Apple Tower’.
Agrud Partners also represented Mr. Harish Gangji Dedhiya and Mr. Anil Chamanlal in separate cases valued to Rs. 2,46,07,261/- and Rs. 250,00,00,000/-, respectively. The former filed a Writ Petition in the Bombay High Court.
The firm has also represented international companies such as Monsanto/Bayer Corp. and Aircon Beibars FZE. Monsanto/Bayer Corp faced several suits and complaints filed all over India under various acts, such as the Seeds Act, Insecticide Act, Indian Penal Code, Essential Commodities Act, and by Legal Metrology Officers. Agrud Partners was successful in getting favourable orders for their client. Aircon Beibars FZE, a Dubai-based company, gave a helicopter on lease to Heligo Charters Private Limited, a company based in India. The firm represented Aircon Beibars FZE in several cases, including one where Heligo challenged the enforcement of an award under section 50 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
Agrud Partners also represented the Parekh Family (Nilkamal Group) in a case where third-party buyers had purchased parts of the property based on forged documents from Mr. Kadandale Rao, who made an application before the Hon'ble District Sub-Registrar for formation of a society.
Additionally, the firm represented Reckitt Benckiser India Private Limited in a suit for alleged disparagement of their product by our client who has published/telecast stills and adverts that portray the usage of soap as ineffective for cleansing and removing germs as against the usage of handwash. Lastly, the firm represented Zee Entertainment Enterprises for a case worth INR 45,52,29,712/-.
