Career

Joanna has worked exclusively in family law for the past 14 years, advising HNW families in all aspects of family law.

Joanna trained and qualified at a reputable regional firm in 2009, later joining a boutique family law office. She qualified as a mediator in 2013, and joined several Resolution Committees, garnering the respect and support of her peers both in Surrey, but also in London during this period, where she established a reputation as a safe pair of hands practicing high net worth work, outside of London. Joanna later joined an established private wealth firm in their family team in London in 2018 where she continued to grow her practice, often working closely alongside the Court of Protection team and in relation to the interplay between family law and significant personal injury trusts.

Joanna joined Edwards Family Law as a Partner in 2022.
Joanna has been praised as being firm but fair, whilst endeavouring to consider the needs of the whole family and working in the best interests of children. Joanna offers clients a tailored approach to their case, using her ADR skillset to see the case as holistically as possible. Joanna is committed to resolving all matters as pragmatically as possible without unnecessary conflict, but if best attempts at resolving matters are unsuccessful, Joanna is experienced in
helping clients through alternative dispute resolution methods and the court process wherever necessary. Court proceedings can be daunting, and Joanna has been praised by clients for offering calm and sensible advice throughout.
