Nicholas was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2013. Nicholas completed his pupillage at Skrine and practiced in the same firm until 2019. His background is in civil litigation, having advised and acted in a wide spectrum of complex commercial disputes, across all levels of the Malaysian courts. Several of these cases have been cited and reported.

Nicholas also specialises in the niche area of trade remedies, international trade and customs. He successfully represented multiple international and domestic clients (manufacturers, importers, exporters, trade associations etc.) in various trade and customs matters, including valuation, classification, and anti-dumping and safeguard investigations initiated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia.

Prior to joining the firm, Nicholas served as legal counsel with one of the largest telecommunications companies in Malaysia. He provided legal support across a variety of departments (including regulatory and government affairs, product, marketing, sales, enterprise business, customer management, procurement, security, compliance, privacy etc.) but retained his primary focus in Network and Technology. Under Network and Technology, his experience includes working on technical agreements, regulated and non-regulated services or access agreements, permit and licences, tenancies, operations and maintenance, on both local and industry levels. He also supervised the disputes and litigation portfolio with considerable success.
