Partner, Attorney At Law. Specializes in a wide range of tax and customs issues, litigation, investments and foreign economic activity, intellectual property, trade and distribution, labour issues. Alexander Shemiatkin has practical experience in business structuring, tax planning, contractual relations structuring, especially in the field of trade and distribution, cross-border transactions, agreements related to royalties' payment and software use. He is especially strong in tax and customs litigation, disputes on protection of the intellectual property rights and labour. He has more than 100 professional publications in mass media on topical issues of taxation, customs and dispute resolution.

Alexander takes an active part in law-making activities of KM Partners. He is one of the authors of the draft law on amending the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the Exit Capital Tax. He is the author of variety of articles and participant of the range of meetings with representatives of the governmental authorities and the public regarding the introduction of Exit Capital Tax in Ukraine. Alexander also took part in elaboration and adoption of the draft law on the creation of a taxpayer’s e-cabinet.

Before joining KM Partners in 2001, Alexander worked as a Head of Legal Department at several Ukrainian state enterprises. Became a Partner of KM Partners in 2009. He is co-founder and member of KM Partners Attorneys at Law.

American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC), European Business Association (EBA), U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), Public Organization "ENRIGHTENED", Ukrainian Grain Association. In 2017 was elected to the Public Council under the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Alexander is the co-chairman of the Tax Committee of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs.
