Career

José Antonio Velasco Alessandri has extensive experience in M&A transactions, banking and finance, as well as construction, infrastructure and real estate, water and energy, along with local and international contracts in a wide range of sectors.

His notable advisory work includes the sale of Teknica and Enersafe to Legrand; the Kalpataru Power contract for the design, supply, and construction of the Kimal–Lo Aguirre transmission line with the Conexión consortium (ISA, Transelec, and China Southern Grid); the structuring of the joint development agreement between Oceanus and EDF for the construction of a desalination and power generation project; the sale of Uno Salud to Linzor Capital; the merger of Surlat (Emmi) with Quillayes; the sale of Stericycle's local subsidiaries to Veolia for USD $30.7 million; the offtake agreement and related guarantees between Mitsui and Pampa Camarones (Minería Activa); the acquisition by Patria Investments of the O2 Group gym chains for USD $35 million; and the joint venture between Mitsui Bussan Woodchip and Bosques Cautín.

He also participated in the USD $500mm financing for Pacific Hydro’s energy projects, the €126mm financing transaction of Ezentis by Highbridge Capital Management LL.C. (JP Morgan Chase), as well as the financing for Coro Mining Corp. by Greenstone Capital.

José Antonio previously worked as an international associate in the Chicago and New York offices of Latham & Watkins LLP on M&A, financing and capital markets transactions.
