Career

Nakasamba is a Legal Practitioner of 10 years, and a Partner at A.M.W & Co. Legal, a top-tier law firm based in Lusaka, Zambia. She is a commercial transactional lawyer with a wholistic perspective and well-rounded view of commercial transactions given her wealth of experience in matters relating to Regulatory Compliance, Competition Law, Tax Law, ESG, Sustainable Financing, Employment Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Corporate Insolvency. She advises both local and international clients on various requirements necessary for investing and doing business in Zambia. She has been lead-advisor in some of Zambia’s notable commercial transactions and mergers and acquisitions, including an international bank’s acquisition of two separate banks in Zambia, negotiations and drafting of bulk supply agreements between the Zambian government’s national power utility company and third parties and the corporate restructuring of one of Zambia’s leading public listed companies in the agricultural sector.

Nakasamba has advised clients seeking to secure or restructure financing from international institutions such the Development Finance Corporation (an agency of the United States of America and successor in interest to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)) and the Africa Agriculture & Trade Investment Fund (AATIF) - a variable capital specialized investment fund dedicated to uplifting Africa’s agricultural potential for the benefit of the poor. This included the review and drafting of facility documents, compliance with all conditions precedent and deliverables necessary for the drawdown of funds, ensuring regulatory approval of the capital structure in the case of financial institutions.

She is an advocate of the Superior Courts of Zambia and a Commissioner of Oaths. She obtained her LLB qualification from the University of Zambia, is an active member of the International Bar Association, International Competition Network, SADC Law Association. Nakasamba is also an alternative dispute resolution practitioner, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) with focus in arbitration, mediation and adjudication.
