Professional Experience

Zeki Gündüz joined PwC as a tax manager in 1992, after eight years of experience at the Ministry of Finance as an inspector. He was a partner at PwC Turkey from 1997-2022. He was also PwC Turkey’s Tax and Legal Services Leader from 2010-2020.

In his former role as a finance inspector, Zeki performed numerous tax audits for private companies and state intuitions and participated in inspections for various ministerial departments. His extensive experience also includes a one-year secondment in the UK.

He is now the founding partner of the Gündüz& Özgenç Attorney Partnership, as of 1st July 2022.

Qualifications and Memberships

Zeki is a sworn financial advisor (YMM) and a lawyer. He is also a well known educator and regular speaker at tax forums and seminars, organised by PwC, the Istanbul Chamber of Sworn Financial Advisors (İYMMO), the Istanbul Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (İSMMMO), publishing houses, professional associations, and other similar institutions.

In addition to his professional assignments, Zeki represents YASED on the Tax Council and is a member of numerous business organizations, including the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), the Tax Commission, the International Fiscal Association (IFA) Turkey, and the board of Transparency International. He is also the author of various articles and supplements in periodicals.

During his PwC career, Zeki was the editor of the PwC Tax Bulletins, from 1992 to 2022, and an administrator and editor of Vergi Portalı, the executive editor of PwC TV, and a columnist for Dünya Gazetesi.

Recognition

As the most preeminent expert in tax litigation in Turkey, Zeki was ranked as a highly regarded individual by ITR Tax World Tax and leading individual by Legal500 more than once.
