Career

Mehmet Karlı is a partner at Kabine Law Office. Dr. Karlı focuses his practice on disputes and complex international transactions related to various sectors including construction, energy, telecommunications, and banking and finance. He has represented and advised a wide range of clients, including sovereigns, multinational corporations, and high net-worth individuals before local courts, ICSID, ICC, ISTAC, UNCITRAL, SCIA, LCIA arbitral tribunals and ECHR, as well as in their complex transactions. Dr. Karlı’s practice also covers the representation of the clients in the prosecution process of white-collar crimes both in Turkey and in foreign jurisdictions, and corporate and personal wealth restructurings.

Dr. Karlı served as an assistant professor of international law at the Faculty of Law, University of Galatasaray and taught classes on international law, international trade and investments, and international human rights law. He has been a visiting fellow at the European Studies Centre and was a research associate at the Centre for International Studies of the University of Oxford where he taught the course on international law and the Middle East. Dr. Karlı was a board member of the Galatasaray Sports Club between 2013-2014.

Dr. Karlı also has an active pro bono practice and has given lectures and trainings on civil rights and liberties and active citizenship.
