Career

Founder of the law firm Guzmán & Cía. Abogados in 1996,

Before founding the firm, he worked as an associate at Claro & Compañía (1990-1996).

He has been a professor of Water Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile and in the Master’s program in Mining Law and Water Law at Universidad Finis Terrae.

He has authored various national and international publications throughout his career, including:

“Estudio de las Aguas en el Derecho Chileno” (1993), co-authored. “Reflexiones en Torno al Proyecto de Ley que Modifica al Código de Aguas” (1993), published in the Journal of the Confederation of Canalists of Chile. “Water Under Chilean Law” (1997), part of the Mineral Law Series for presentation at the Latin American Mining Development seminar organized by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.

Education

Alberto is a lawyer graduated from the University of Chile (1992). He furthered his studies in environmental law and natural resources, completing diplomas in Environmental Control and Management and in Regulation of the Electricity Sector, both at the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Chile.
