Paul Caslin is a highly accomplished Senior Associate Solicitor within our Wills, Trusts & Tax team. Who provides specialist advice on non-contentious matters.

Paul qualified as a solicitor in 2016 at Wirral-based law firm, Jackson Lees LLP. In October 2018, he joined Aaron & Partners and quickly became an integral part of the Wills, Trusts & Tax team.

Paul's area of expertise lies in non-contentious aspects of Wills, Trusts, and Tax, with a specific focus on Court of Protection matters, having gained valuable experience working for the Court Service, giving him unique insights into the legal system and an in-depth understanding of this complex type of work.

He is well-versed in dealing with the Office of Public Guardian (OPG) and the Court of Protection. Paul excels in handling a wide range of applications to the OPG and CoP, providing specialist guidance on sensitive matters such as the removal of incapacitated trustees, authorizing statutory dispositions, and addressing investigations into a Deputy or Attorney's conduct.

Paul has garnered a highly respected reputation for his client-centric approach. He provides comprehensive tax planning to high net worth individuals, ensuring their personal affairs are in order during their lifetime and beyond. He crafts bespoke Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Advance Directives to achieve his clients' objectives, including asset protection, inheritance tax (IHT) mitigation, and safeguarding vulnerable beneficiaries.

In addition to working with individuals and families, Paul’s expertise extend into charities and trusts. He supports Executors and Administrators in obtaining Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration, dealing with IHT400 Returns, and handling IHT reliefs and exemptions. Furthermore, he provides guidance to Personal Representatives and Trustees on administering Estates and various Trusts, considering complex cross-border elements and tax-efficient strategies.

Paul thrives under pressure and enjoys untangling complex cases to find the best solutions for his clients. Building strong relationships with clients is at the core of his practice, as he actively listens and understands their concerns to align his strategies with their goals.
